Joy of Giving Something, Inc. (JGS) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the photographic arts. Photographs from the JGS collection are made available as loans to major museums around the world.
JGS is also committed to advancing the arts in education. Working in partnership with museums, schools, and community organizations across the country, JGS has established scholarships to support students pursuing post-secondary studies in photography or media art. Additionally, through its Resolution program, JGS provides opportunities for teens to publish and exhibit their work in the context of social awareness.

In 2007, JGS instituted the Forward Thinking Museum, a virtual space, with hopes that images will transcend the divisions that language brings. Featured videos and  contemporary photography bridge fine-art and journalistic genres to address complex social, political, technological, and environmental issues.
Single-artist and group exhibits are prepared in-house or by guest curators. A juried quarterly photography contest – open to amateur and professional photographers alike – offers winners the opportunity to show their entry in a dedicated gallery. The yearly winner will receive a feature show at the FTM. In addition, the winner is presented with a choice between an award in the amount of $15,000, or the option to produce a photography book produced, featuring the winner's work.
The Forward Thinking Museum store offers a selection of prints, books, and DVDs. Net proceeds go directly to the scholarship fund for students pursuing photographic studies.
